District Missionary

JoAnn Crosby

Missionary JoAnn Crosby is a native of Greenville, Texas and a product of the stewardship of the late Supt. L.C. Crosby and Mother Maggie Crosby.  She was saved at the age of 15 and received the Baptism of the Holy Ghost at the age of 23 on Labor Day at noonday prayer.

Missionary Crosby is the wife of Pastor Bobby D. Crosby, mother of two (Robert E. Crosby and Rebecca A. Crosby-Singletary), and the grandmother of three.  Missionary Crosby holds a full-time job as Property Manager for a real estate firm in Richardson, Texas.

Missionary Crosby has served faithfully in her home church in various capacities: Sunday School and YPWW secretary, Sunshine Band President, personal secretary to the late Supt. L.C. Crosby until his demise.  She also came up through the ranks in District work, serving on Mother Mattie Burleson’s staff as Sunshine Band President and assistant Secretary Department of Women.  Missionary Crosby also served as the District Sunday School Field representative with the late Supt. Aaron Walden and later served as Supt. Walden’s District Missionary during his ten years of stewardship.  She continues to serve in this position and is a tremendous help to Superintendent Michael Williams, the District and Texas Northeast First Jurisdiction where the Bishop J. Neaul Haynes is the presiding prelate.

In this regard, She is held in the highest esteem by our blessed State Supervisor for the Women's Department, Mother Freddye Carter, and the Jurisdictional First Lady, Mother Vivian Haynes, as well as pastors within and without the District.  All acknowledge the Spiritual gifts of faith, wisdom, knowledge and helps effectually at work in her life.  Particularly noteworthy is her work and love for the Home & Foreign Mission arena.  She has been lauded for her exemplary support of COGIC field mission endeavors on at least two separate occasions.

During her tenure in office Missy Crosby has produced a Department of Women Handbook-A Tool for Auxiliary Leaders, 3 Souvenir Journals and a Department Cookbook.  Missionary Crosby’s driving force has been believing in God’s word when He said “Go in My Vineyard and work, whatever is right….”  Missionary Crosby has believed God for her livelihood, deliverance, burden barrier, company keeper, mind-regulator; she finds all that she could want or need in Christ our LORD—to God be the Glory for His marvelous work.
